Root Cause of Body Odor

Sweating is a natural process that helps regulate body temperature. Sweat itself is virtually odorless, but when it comes into contact with bacteria on the skin, it can produce an unpleasant smell. The root cause of body odor is the bacteria and fungi that are always present on the skin

. The two main types of sweat glands are eccrine glands and apocrine glands. Eccrine glands are all over the body and release fluids that cool the body down. Apocrine glands are in the armpits, groin, and pubic area and release sweat that can mix with bacteria and cause odor. Body odor can be influenced by factors like weight, diet, health, stress, and genetics.
